In celebration of my daughter’s second birthday, I am looking back over the past year. Specifically, I am talking about the toys she loved to play with as a one-year-old.

Since I know from experience that my daughter loved (and still loves) these toys, I highly recommend them! In my opinion, they would make great gifts for any one-year-old girl!
Below is a list of 5 toys that Julia LOVED as a one-year-old. They are in no particular order.
#1 – Playskool Friends Sesame Street Tickle Me Elmo
I am honestly surprised at how much my daughter LOVES her Elmo. I didn’t even know she knew who Elmo was when she received this gift from grandma. Elmo laughs when you squeeze his tummy or foot. Also, Elmo’s mouth is open just wide enough to fit a pacifier in it. Julia dresses Elmo up in her doll’s clothes and keeps a pacifier in his mouth at all times. It’s very funny to us.
#2 – Fisher-Price Little People Music Parade Ride-On
When Julia opened this present, she immediately climbed on it and started riding around the room. I didn’t expect her to be able to do that right when she turned one, but she did. And she LOVED it! The music is fun and catchy. The seat lifts up and you can store other small toys in there. It’s always interesting to see what I find under that seat!
#3 – VTech Smart Shots Sports Center
This toy combines soccer and basketball in one. It’s a very exciting game because it cheers you on when you score points! There are also places to store the basketball and soccer ball, which I love. The balls sit right behind the soccer goal posts. I was a soccer player, so I loved teaching Julia how to kick the soccer ball. This is also a great toy because we can practice soccer and basketball inside when it’s cold outside.
#4 – Fisher-Price Brilliant Basics Stroll-Along Walker
This stroller is very sturdy and easy to push. There is a button on the bear at the top that plays music. Also, there are different toys on the lap bar on the stroller to play with. The blue and green animals on the stroller bar spin around. There are also balls to spin and a book to flip back and forth. Julia loves to push her baby dolls, Elmo, and other stuffed animals around in the stroller.
#5 – Little Tikes Gas ‘n Go Mower
This lawnmower toy is really fun. When you push it, it makes popping sounds. You can also turn it “on” by pulling a cord that makes a noise. The gas can comes off and it can be used to “fill” the gas tank. This toy is very popular with Julia’s friends! I especially remember when one of Julia’s friends came over and played with it. The next time I talked to his mom, I found out that she had decided to buy it for their house because it was so much fun.
I hope you find this list helpful! These are the toys that my daughter enjoyed playing with the most over the past year. Let me know if you have any other questions about them in the comments below! I would be happy to answer any questions.
